- Hydraulics is the transmission of power from one location to another through the use of liquid.
- A mineral based oil is the most common type of fluid used. Other types include water or a vegatable based oil.
- Advantages: ease and accuracy of control, multiplication of force (power steering or power brakes), constant force or torque, simplicity, safety, economy, and many others.
