- Pressure at (2) or (3) overcomes the pring-bias poppet and allows free flow to (1) or (4) respectively
- Flow in the opposite direction, from (1) to (2) or (4) to (3), is blocked by the poppet
- Blocked flow is released when pilot pressure is applied tothe port opposite of (3) and/or (2) respectively.
- When the required pilot pressure is acheived at (2), the poppet unseats and allows flow between (4) and (3)
- When the required pilot pressure is acheived at (3), the poppet unseats and allows flow between (1) and (2)
- The Pilot piston area to poppet seat area ratio is 3:1
